Moneta: Strengthening KiwiSaver advice with digital tools from OMNIMax

KiwiSaver had always been part of client conversations at Moneta. But as compliance expectations increased and clients began expecting faster, clearer, and more digital experiences, the team saw an opportunity to enhance the way they delivered KiwiSaver advice.

They wanted a solution that not only supported regulatory requirements but also made advisers’ work more streamlined and helped create more engaging conversations with clients. After reviewing the market, Moneta chose OMNIMax’s KiwiSaver Online Fact Find and KiwiSaver Adviser Tool - options that supported both efficiency and an improved client experience.

The challenge: Making KiwiSaver advice easier and more consistent

Moneta’s team had built a strong KiwiSaver book over time, but their existing process wasn’t designed for scale.

“We decided to take KiwiSaver a bit more seriously,” Nick Hau, a Director and Adviser at Moneta, explains. “In this day and age, compliance is a non-negotiable, so having a thorough system that made our job easier was a no-brainer.”

They were looking for a solution that would:

  • Streamline client data collection
  • Support both face-to-face and remote advice
  • Create a smoother client experience
  • Support compliance requirements
  • Help advisers focus more on advice and less on administration

After reviewing the market, OMNIMax stood out.

The solution: A seamless digital KiwiSaver journey

Moneta implemented both OMNIMax KiwiSaver tools to create a smoother pathway from first contact through to advice delivery.

The KiwiSaver Online Fact Find sits on Moneta’s website, allowing prospective clients to complete their initial information in their own time. That information flows directly to the Moneta team, removing duplication and enabling advisers to prepare before conversations begin.

“It enables us to steer prospective clients to the site to do an initial fact find which automatically finds its way to us and which we can follow up, which is wonderful, says Nick.”

Advisers also use the tool live in face-to-face meetings, allowing them to walk through the process with their clients.

Once client information is captured, KiwiSaver Adviser Tool supports comparisons, advice documentation, client approval, and reviews, within a streamlined workflow. This integrated process helps ensure advice remains consistent and structured, while keeping the focus on meaningful client conversations. Client approval itself is flexible, as it can also be completed online or during a fact-to-face meeting.

The impact: Better conversations and stronger outcomes

Since implementing OMNIMax’s tools, Moneta has seen improvements across efficiency, flexibility, and client understanding.

Clients now complete much of the groundwork before meetings, freeing advisers to focus on guidance rather than data gathering.

Clients also leave meetings either reassured that their current settings are working for them or confident about making changes that will help them to meet their goals. According to Nick, clients have “either been confirmed that where they are is a good spot… or it’s opened their eyes to a switch that’s going to give them the outcome they want and need.”

Supporting growth through digital engagement

The KiwiSaver Online Fact Find has also created new ways for Moneta to engage prospective clients earlier in their journey. The team now directs people to the tool from conversations and events, making it easy for clients to begin their KiwiSaver advice journey immediately. “We’ve been to events and had ‘scan here’ and that enables people to go directly to the fact find, says Nick.”

The implementation experience

Rolling out both KiwiSaver tools meant embedding new workflows across both new and existing clients.

“OMNIMax have been wonderful in terms of helping us get all our data together. We had quite a large KiwiSaver book before we engaged with them, Nick explains.”

The OMNIMax team supported Moneta through setup, training, and ongoing optimisation.

Enabling clearer KiwiSaver advice

For Moneta, the tools have made it easier to clearly demonstrate outcomes and give clients confidence in their KiwiSaver decisions. “Without these tools, we wouldn’t have been able to provide that advice as clearly as and as easy as we have been, Nick says.”
