AMP takes out top award

AMP Financial Services was earlier this month named as the top life insurer of the year, beating out competition from Asteron and Partners Life.

Thursday, December 1st 2016, 12:23PM

The award, handed out by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), is for life insurance companies who have demonstrated strong performance, responded to market changes and provided outstanding service for their customers and intermediaries.

"AMP proclaims its purpose is to help people own their tomorrow," the judges said. "With a detailed submission, AMP demonstrated a genuine commitment to empowering its customers to do just that."

"AMP has proven its impact on the market through positive financial results, good customer satisfaction measures, and proactive leadership at a time of regulatory change.

"The judges were particularly impressed with the AMP customer ‘Listen, Learn, Act’ program and its use of data to improve customer outcomes.

"The investment in learning and development through AMP U is commendable. Focussing on a number of capability streams this well rounded program is highly valued by AMP’s staff.

The judges also noted AMP’s generosity providing more than $2 million worth of scholarships over the past 18 years to a diverse group of recipients.

AMP’s well rounded and evidenced based submission make them a worthy recipient in this highly contested category.

The Innovation of the year award was given to NZI for its NZI Safe Driving Rewards Program which uses telemetric data to establish behavioural benchmarks and assess insurance risk for heavy motor vehicles.

Konnect Net was one of the finalists in this categoryPrue Willsford, CEO of ANZIIF, said that “Despite the challenges the industry has faced over the last year in New Zealand, the individuals and businesses honoured tonight have exhibited outstanding creativity and adaptability.”
