Asteron launches online application tool

AsteronConnect says its new online quotation tool should make it easier for advisers to quote for customers.

Wednesday, October 11th 2017, 6:00AM

“We’ve worked with a large group of advisers and developers to create AsteronConnect, and the first phase of our digital delivery provides a user-friendly quote platform” said Cris Knell, executive general manager, distribution.

“The platform will make quoting a lot easier for the advisers we work with, and will also improve the experience of their customers.”

The quotation platform is part of a wider roll-out that will include the release of a straight-through online application in November.

“This is just the first step on the journey to a new way of working for Asteron Life,” Knell said.

“Advisers will be able to talk through different options with their customers and adjust and refine a dynamically changing quotation based on their requirements, and all at the touch of a button.”

The application tool incorporates underwriting capability to reduce the amount of time advisers need to spend on paperwork. Straightforward applications can go through on the spot with immediate approval.

Asteron said it intended to develop an application that was user- and tablet-friendly. Advisers can link two tablets to work on the same application with a couple.

The insurer said application would enable advisers to work electronically and should eliminate unnecessary printing and physical paperwork.

“We’ve received really positive feedback from the advisers who have used the system so far,”  Knell said. “They’ve told us that it’s much quicker, and they can see the benefits of the tool straight away.”
