Southern Cross/ProCare partnership opens up virtual GP service

CareHQ is intended to make primary healthcare more accessible for New Zealanders.

Tuesday, November 10th 2020, 3:42PM

The recently launched venture will offer New Zealanders urgent and after hours virtual appointments, as well as online consultations when regular GPs aren’t available. The branding as CareHQ will help advisers to differentiate between this and Southern Cross Insurance.

CareHQ will provide GP consultations seven days a week between the hours of 7am-7pm. Patients can access an appointment with an available GP through the CareHQ app: Southern Cross Health Insurance members will also be able to access CareHQ via the My Southern Cross app.

Southern Cross Health Insurance members will have a $10 discount for appointments ($55) and non-members will be charged $65 for appointments. If Southern Cross members have GP consult cover, they will be able to recover most, of not all.

Advisers can view the CareHQ demonstration video on the Southern Cross website which will be live on November 23 www.southerncross.co.nz/carehq. Alternatively this can be viewed now at www.carehq.co.nz

Advisers can also familiarise themselves with CareHQ to help guide clients by downloading the CareHQ app which launches on November 23.
