Partners makes high-profile board appointment

Former markets boss takes a role with insurer.

Tuesday, December 19th 2017, 4:16PM

Former stock exchange boss Tim Bennett is to join the board of insurance firm Partners Life.

He was the chief executive of the NZX from 2012 to 2016.

Bennett replaces former Kiwibank chief executive Sam Knowles as a non-executive independent director. Knowles has been on the board for five-and-a-half years.

"It is a shame to see Sam go," said managing director Naomi Ballantyne.

"I am so thankful that he brought his experience and reputation to Partner Life very early on in our journey and I certainly wish him the very best with his new ventures. Bringing Tim Bennett on to our already impressive Board has really now cemented our position as a world-class life and health insurer."
