The newly merged insurer is the platinum sponsor of this year’s National Advisers Conference.

Savidan said work was under way to bring the two businesses together and it would be able to say soon what the future plan was around its brand.

“We have two brands in the market with two different product sets and two great distribution teams,” he said. “We are working really hard to try to align those ranges and in 2019 e will come to the market with one brand and one product set.”

Savidan said the company had a plan to bring its teams together into one office in Smailes Farm and was working on the details to make that happen.

It had made a commitment to staff that it would be done before Christmas, he said. “As you can imagine when you do stuff like that the small details are important.”

He said the business was backed by the largest life insurer in the world and wanted to help advisers think about framing up different conversations with their clients over time.

Next year it will launch AIA Vitality which will mean talking more to clients about their journey in life, not just protection.

“It’s a conversation changer.”

Savidan said AIA was committed to its adviser partners as its most important distribution channel. “I want to give you the commitment that we are there for you and this business change is for the good.”
