AIA NZ chief executive takes leave

AIA NZ chief executive says it has been a long year, especially for those living in lockdown in Auckland, and has taken long service leave to spend time with his family.

Nick Stanhope says the 12 weeks of lockdown have certainly provided some challenges.

"One of the silver linings of Covid-19 for me has been the time I’ve been able to spend with my family," he says.

"Being a father is my proudest achievement, and watching my beautiful girls grow up has been such a privilege.

"I’m at the stage now where my youngest daughter is ready to take her next step in life as she finishes high school.

"Off the back of this, I have decided to take advantage of my long service leave and take a few months off work to enjoy a long summer with the family."

As of now, AIA NZ's chief customer and digital officer Sharron Botica will take up the reins as acting chief executive until Stanhope returns at the beginning of February.
