Chubb appoints David Morrow as Country President for New Zealand

Chubb has appointed David Morrow as Country President for New Zealand.

Thursday, March 7th 2024, 9:59AM

In his new role, Morrow, who was previously Head of Property and Casualty (P&C) for Chubb New Zealand, will have responsibility for the company’s general insurance business in New Zealand, including commercial P&C, traditional and specialty personal lines and accident and health insurance.

Morrow will report to Peter Kelaher, Chubb Country President for Australia and New Zealand, and succeeds Andrew Brooks, who has left the company. Morrow will oversee all facets of the New Zealand general insurance business including strategy, product, business development and underwriting.

Kelaher said: “I’m pleased to appoint David to lead our New Zealand general insurance operations. David's tenure with us has been marked by progressive leadership, showcasing his ability to steer our business with excellence. His expansive network and deep understanding of both Chubb and the general insurance industry positions us to capitalise on growth opportunities in the New Zealand market.”

Morrow has over 27 years of experience in the general insurance industry, including 15 years with Chubb in leadership positions. He joined Chubb in 2009 as Property Manager for New Zealand, and during his career at Chubb spent 10 years working across Asia in Thailand, Malaysia and Japan as the Head of Property and Casualty. He is a Senior Associate of The Institute of New Zealand Insurance.
