AIA gets new CTO

AIA New Zealand appoints new chief technology officer.

AIA has appointed Luke Longney as its new chief technology officer.

Longney first joined the AIA in 2021 as Head of Technology – Digital, and progressed to Head of Technology Experience. Under his leadership since he joined AIA, his team has delivered multiple digital experience and security improvements across internal and external applications.

Prior to joining AIA Longney spent 20 years at Vodafone in New Zealand and Qatar. In his nine years based in Qatar, he led commercial and marketing teams and helped grow the business from a startup to an $1 billion revenue operation.

Back in New Zealand, he was a member of Vodafone’s executive team, and in his subsequent digital role, led a digital transformation that delivered uplifts in customer experience, communications, and ways of working, as well as increased digital sales and reduced costs.
