Fidelity Life announced a raft of changes to adviser services and clients support at its Engage on Tour 25 conference, held in cinemas across New Zealand in late October.
Fidelity Life says it has doubled down on listening to adviser feedback, and the new changes are designed to “deliver greater value, simplify business, and elevate professional development.”
Client service additions now available:
- Cancer companion services expanded to Life and Income Protection customers, providing cancer coaching programmes and specialist access
- 6-12 week support programme for cancer caregivers through Osara Health partnership
- Free counselling for customers using hardship tools
Coming March 2026:
- Free access to an online Will service via Footprint NZ for new customers purchasing an eligible Life cover and Group policy members
Fidelity Life has also implemented multiple E-App improvements, with quote sharing for admin teams and application numbers in confirmation emails already live.
Additional features rolling out soon include a copy contact details function, removal of specific dates in underwriting questions, and automated reminders for E-App Share.
Underwriting and professional development
Fidelity Life has removed evidence requirements for lump sum special event increases, replaced some ECGs with NT-proBNP blood tests, and increased medical limits.
These changes reduce the documentation required for certain transactions, and are all live.
Professional development opportunities have expanded through the Adviser Edge programmes, with registrations open for Advice Masters, Professional Pathways, and Career Connect.
Fidelity Life has introduced a digital maturity assessment framework allowing advisers to evaluate their practice across technology infrastructure, client engagement, digital leadership, and operational processes. It will fund four Outward Bound leadership course spots in 2026 and has continued its MDRT platinum sponsorship.
Additional programmes launching
- "We support who you support" grant programme for adviser-nominated local organisations (applications November)
- "Cutting through" guide for client engagement strategies (November)
- Behavioural economics training (early 2026)
Chief commercial officer Bronwyn Kirwan said the initiatives followed advisers wanting greater value, simplified processes, and better professional development resources.
“There’s a serious message behind the red carpet and superhero moments,” she said.
“We’re stepping up - together with advisers - to lead the change and spark the future of life insurance. Our new initiatives aim to reignite the importance of life insurance and spark even greater client conversations. The goal is to ensure that life insurance is considered by New Zealanders, when making financial choices in a tougher economic environment.
